Roseanne Returning With Most Of The Original Cast Already On Board

The return of past television, which has recently included The Gilmore Girls, Full House, and others (including news of a Will & Grace return), now adds one of comedy television all-time greats, Roseanne. Deadline reports in an exclusive (see below) that a Roseanne revival is in the works with at least Roseanne Barr, John Goodman and Sara Gilbert.

The show apparently already has several networks bidding, including Netflix, who seem to want to make this kind of idea part of their overall television effort. The revival is executive produced by original series EP’s Tom Werner, Barr and Bruce Helford with Gilbert and Whitney Cummings.

Deadline also reports that the show intends to get all the principal actors from the original in some capacity for the reboot.

News of the revival follows John Goodman’s visit to The Talk which saw him express interest in the idea, and included a video return by Goodman and Gilbert (see below).

While we are in the middle of something like a reboot/revival crisis, few theoretical returns offer as much potential as this one, and seeing how the Conner clan manages to relate to today’s world is worth a viewing even if the show had nothing else going for it.
