Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Renewed For Season Four After Kimmy Branches Out

Netflix is going through its own version of renewal season, and while people went a little nuts over the news that Sense8 wouldn’t be returning, Kimmy fans can breathe again.

The renewal of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt might not be surprising, because people seem to still be talking about the show as much as they were after season one, but the third season was really something of a test for the show. The initial release may have won over tons of fans, and the second season was strong as well, but the third season meant it was time to really branch out, or abandon the thing. You can only play the shtick so long, and then we need to get to know something new about Kimmy.

Not only did the third season live up to those sort of expectations, providing a lot of new experiences and directions for all the characters, it also solidified its status as a landing spot for stellar guest stars. The third season included appearances by: Fred Armisen, Maya Rudolph, Tina Fey, Ray Liotta, Amy Sedaris, and many more.

The show stars Ellie Kemper, Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski and Carol Kane, and has already been nominated for almost a dozen Emmys.

You can stream all three season on Netflix, and if you haven’t already, you’ve got even more reason to do so now.
