The 1984 Movie Challenge – Win $2,000 Worth Of Movies And Swag

We do a lot of strange things here, and during the course of our podcast, and one of those strange things recently led to us going through all of the movies during individual years for the past several decades. As just one result, we were blown away by the releases to be found from 1980-85, but most especially 1984.

Without going into more detail than is absolutely necessary, we decided that 1984 needed to be revisited, both by those who lived through it, and those calling themselves fans of movies of any age.

Thus – The 1984 Movie Challenge

First, the prize, though that isn’t usually first.

We’re going to giveaway at least $2,000 worth of Blu-Rays, movie swag, and other random stuff in our vaults. There will be movies in special box sets along with Blu-Rays of films both new and old. We may even throw in a few from 1984 just to be cheeky. We aren’t going to put together a list, but the Blu-Rays themselves will likely approach that $2,000 mark.

Plus, we are going to throw in all manner of memorabilia and swag that we’ve collected over the years. As much of this was never available to purchase, it’s hard to really put a price tag on the bundle we’re putting together, but we’re going to make it very special.

Now, here’s the challenge – You have to watch every movie in the top 100-grossing movies list as reported on Box Office Mojo here. Not have watched. Watch. Good times are in store for you. After all, the whole point is that it was an amazing year in movies, but for all 100 movies, you have to prove you watched them. How you prove it is your problem, but you have to convince us that you watched them.

You’ve got until January 1st, 2020, though we imagine someone will complete the challenge long before that. First to the finish line wins!

We will update this page with some of the prizes being included in the treasure bundle and hopefully with some of your proof that you are participating.

That’s it. Get watching. Well, at the bottom there are some rules.

And, because it was number one, go watch Beverly Hills Cop.
