What They Had Releases New Clip

What They Had, a film with an incredible cast, takes on an emotional stage of life for more than one generation. It sounds simple enough – Bridget (Hilary Swank) returns to Chicago because her brother (Michael Shannon) needs help dealing with their ailing mother (Blythe Danner) and her father’s (Robert Forster) reluctance to let go of their life together – but it’s actually a story as complex as the real life situation that might be summed up with similarly deceptive succinctness.

It isn’t just that parents age, or that children age for that matter. For Bridget, it’s at least also the ability to see her parents through a different lens, and the stunning realization that she doesn’t have what they had.

It’s apparently a film that you had better be in the right mood for, but for those ready for an emotional roller coaster that (apparently) hopes to lay out a lot of difficult ground, this is one you have to catch.

From first-time writer/director Elizabeth Chomko, this looks to be a career-maker.
