The Monuments Men didn't quite hit us the way we expected, but it's still a worthy night's entertainment for anyone who was at all interested in the first place.
For all that we differed, we weren't far off in our ratings (as usual). A fun and layered end to Nolan's trip with Batman, but one with a few problems.
A destruction orgy that aims to be all sub-text, the "big deal" is the least of Man of Steel's problems.
Edge of Tomorrow was everything we hoped for, and extremely little of what we feared. Cruise and Blunt were great, and Doug Liman proved himself yet again.
An effort worthy of some applause, but it is the work of the largely deluded, and the whole is less than the sum of the parts.
