New Crysis 3 Single-Player Gameplay Preview Throws You Into The Thick Of It

It’s still quite a ways off, but Crysis 3 is coming, and there’s a new gameplay preview that really throws you into the thick of things. It also conveniently gives you a bit of voiceover introduction, but the meat of the thing is the action.

I know it’s a bit tricky to really get amped up for things that can’t go on your holiday wishlist right now, but you’re going to want to keep your eyes on this one. Check out the video and let me know what you think.

Go deeper into the heart of the 7 Wonders with this brand new gameplay video from Crysis 3. As Prophet and Michael “Psycho” Sikes traverse the lush fields of an MTA west side storage yard the foreboding visage of an abandoned Pinger gives way to a massive firefight showing the alien weaponry you must harness to turn the tide against the CELL Corporation. Swamp-like tunnels below the city then open up to reveal tactical vertical battlegrounds perfect for the adaptive warfare that the Crysis franchise is acclaimed for. Armed with the Predator composite bow, the incredible abilities of the Nanosuit and an arsenal of weapons, Prophet turns the landscape to his advantage as he relentlessly hunts the CELL Troopers in his way.

Powered by Crytek’s proprietary CryENGINE®, Crysis 3 advances the state of the art with unparalleled visuals and dynamic shooter gameplay. Players take on the role of ‘Prophet’ as he returns to New York, only to discover that the city has been encased in a Nanodome created by the corrupt Cell Corporation. The New York City Liberty Dome is a veritable urban rainforest teeming with overgrown trees, dense swamplands and raging rivers. Within the Liberty Dome, seven distinct and treacherous environments become known as the Seven Wonders. This dangerous new world demands advanced weapons and tactics. Prophet will utilize a lethal composite bow, an enhanced Nanosuit and devastating alien tech to become the deadliest hunter on the planet.

In reality, the Nanodomes are CELL’s covert attempt at a land and technology grab in their quest for global domination.
