Jack The Giant Slayer Hits June 18th

Jack the Giant Slayer is headed your way, possibly a little sooner than you thought, June 18th, and though the film didn’t exactly smash the box office, it’s a fun romp you should check out.

It doesn’t look like there’s going to be a giant list of extras with the film, but that may be a bit deceiving, as the Become a Giant Slayer Interactive Experience seems to contain many elements.

As you may be aware, our podcast review of Jack the Giant Slayer wasn’t exactly a forum for singing the film’s praises, but we were pleasantly surprised, overall, taking it as a family-friendly, popcorn movie, and I know younger audiences are going to enjoy it.

A legendary war resurfaces as relentless giants are unleashed to take over the Earth when “Jack the Giant Slayer” arrives onto Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital Download on June 18 from Warner Home Entertainment. “Jack the Giant Slayer” tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants.

Acclaimed filmmaker Bryan Singer directs the family adventure “Jack the Giant Slayer,” starring Nicholas Hoult as Jack. The film also stars Eleanor Tomlinson as Princess Isabelle; Stanley Tucci as the deceitful Roderick; Ian McShane as Isabelle’s father, the besieged King Brahmwell; Bill Nighy as General Fallon, the ferocious two-headed leader of the giant army; and Ewan McGregor as the loyal knight Elmont.

The Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack features the theatrical version of the film in 3D hi-definition, hi-definition and standard definition; the Blu-ray Combo Pack features the theatrical version of the film in hi-definition on Blu-ray; and the DVD features the theatrical version in standard definition. The Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and the single disc DVD include UltraViolet which allows consumers to download and instantly stream the standard definition theatrical version of the film to a wide range of devices including computers and compatible tablets, smartphones, game consoles, Internet-connected TVs and Blu-ray players.

 

Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend— and gets the chance to become a legend himself.
