If you haven’t guessed, there are going to be a lot of films related to comics hitting this year, but Wonder Woman is in a slightly different realm than the rest. Not because it will be better, but because it looks to be a film with a different theory behind it. Like Logan, though they are different for different reasons, Wonder Woman gives the impression that it wants to turn down a certain sideroad, possibly somewhere in the neighborhood of Agent Carter.

If nothing else, Wonder Woman isn’t playing in the same leagues as a lot of other comic stories just in terms of how many times we’ve had to suffer through the reboots and repeated origin stories. If we’re lucky, we’ll go back to something that aimed at more depth of character, like the first Iron Man and Captain America films, though with its own unique voice thrown in.
