Here’s another one that obviously doesn’t need a lot of sell, especially now that the Minions-specific effort has won people over. But, the third effort isn’t automatic, and the second wasn’t quite as big as the first.

Knowing that they had to mix things up for another effort to stand out, Trey Parker joins this one, a decision that pulls double duty because the character adds a retro spin.

The real reason this one gets on the list is that the trailer works and suggests that this time we’re looking to the theories that made the first one such a hit. It’s complex over complicated with a whole lot of fun mixed in.
