La La Land isn't just an instant classic, it's an instant litmus test, and if you don't love it, you're going to want to be careful who you tell. There's more movie happening here than you find in the average ten films, and Stone and Gosling can't receive too much praise.
Allied kicks off in a way that will suck you in, and make you think you're in for one of the best films in a decade, but the wind eventually falls out of the sails as though everyone lost interest in making it.
Kids are going to have a lot of fun with Trolls, and walk out of the theater dancing, but that's really all you can say about it, which means it doesn't come close to living up to today's standards.
What should have been a thoughtful, yet wild ride is a mishandled misfire, that nevertheless includes a lot of fun moments. It had the potential to be among the best Marvel efforts, and instead is one of the most forgettable.
