Gore Verbinski is hoping to jump back into creepy films in a big way with A Cure for Wellness, and while wandering like a fool to a secluded mental health facility isn’t even unique this decade, the new trailer for the film looks fantastically wild.
The trailer is so good that even if things ultimately go wrong with the entire film, this is going to long be one of my favorite trailers. It’s so creepy, and in so many ways, that it’s hard to tell where the creepy begins, because even the intro at the boardroom feels as though something has really gone wrong. There’s a danger that this becomes a hint that at the end of the day the film has a plot that thinks it’s more clever than it is, but even that doesn’t change the fact that this looks brilliant.
Dane DeHaan, who wasn’t around as much as you expected this year, but has a big year ahead with this and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, stars as a young executive sent to fetch his company’s CEO from a “wellness center,” but he soon finds himself in the thick of things, diagnosed with the same curious illness everyone else apparently suffers from.
Check this one out, but turn the lights on, and let us know what you think.

He soon suspects that the spa’s miraculous treatments are not what they seem.
