Outcast New Images And Trailer – Nicolas Cage Is The White Ghost

The latest Nicolas Cage effort (hitting select theaters on 2/6) may not be on your radar, despite the inclusion of Hayden Christensen, but if this genre has any pull for you, you might want to check it out.

The directorial debut of long-time stunt coordinator and frequent second unit director, Nicholas Powell, Outcast should have the recipe for a wild ride locked up. Now, the trailer may not be showcasing the best the film has to offer (or, it might be actually), and anything that looks and feels remotely like this sort of throwback to ’80s cheese could also swing toward unwatchably awful, but sometimes these things turn out to be entertaining gems.

I’m not incredibly keen on the trailer’s lost metaphor line, “There blood will be on our swords,” which apparently aims at spinning a common turn of phrase into something deeper, and instead makes it meaningless, but you can’t have everything.

Check out some new images and the trailer below, and let me know what you think. Possibly fun, or goofy mess?

Tim Roth's Tin Star is easily one of the best performances the year will offer, though the show itself doesn't quite live up to that. It's a wildly fun thriller, but it will make you uncomfortable to say that, and it's one you'll definitely find yourself wanting to binge.
