New Rock Dog Clips Open Up The Humor

You don’t get a lot of animated features that sneak up on you these days, but the marketing promotion for Rock Dog seems to have been drowned out by award season buzz over the last few months. With no connection to something you already know, and an odd-sounding plot, the film hasn’t managed nearly enough attention recently, but some new clips will hopefully change that.

The film revolves around the Tibetan Mastiffs who protect Snow Mountain from wolves. Life is rather simple for the dogs, until one day Bodi (Luke Wilson) finds a radio and decides that he wants to be a rock-and-roll star. From there, the story wanders a familiar road that involves chasing dreams, defying fathers, and exploring beyond the world you know, but if these latest nuggets can be believed, it brings it all together rather well.

The film boasts an impressive cast – JK Simmons, Luke Wilson, Eddie IzzardLewis BlackKenan ThompsonMae Whitman, Jorge Garcia with Matt Dillon, and Sam Elliot as Fleetwood Yak – and is based on ‘Tibetan Rock Dog’ by Zheng Jun.

Take a look at the clips, and the trailer (in case you’ve missed it), and get to theaters to catch this one.
